Because every neshamaH is special.
We’re a caring community for families of children with special needs: support groups, resource guidance, and real-world training so you have clarity, confidence, and connection.
No parent should walk this path alone.
Special Neshamahs is a nonprofit community created by and for families of children with special needs. We provide safe, moderated support groups where parents can share openly, learn from one another, and feel understood. Our team helps families navigate services and systems-from finding the right therapists and evaluations to understanding school supports, legal options, and state programs-using clear, plain-language guidance. We also offer practical trainings on IEP/504 essentials, behavior and communication supports, care coordination, and everyday tools that make home and school life more manageable.
Beyond information, we focus on connection: peer mentors who’ve “been there,” resource matching tailored to your child’s needs, and community events that celebrate big and small wins. We are inclusive, confidential, and family-first, meeting you exactly where you are, and walking alongside you so you feel supported, informed, and never alone.
Our Story
Special Neshamahs was founded by a couple with a special needs child who once found comfort and guidance from another family that understood their journey. Inspired by that support, they wanted to give back—to help other families just as they had been helped. They envisioned a community where parents could celebrate the small wins their children made, where encouragement was shared freely, and where no one had to walk the journey alone.
Their mission grew into helping educate parents so they could support their children to the best of their abilities and knowledge, while also being there emotionally for one another. Today, Special Neshamahs stands as a community of families lifting each other up—learning together, cheering each other on, and finding strength in every shared experience.
